SHOWCASE INFORMATION

Midnight Sun Tournament Format:
What are the Age Divisions?  Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam, & Midget Age Divisions
The following age groups will be used for the Showcase

Pee Wee	93 - 94	11 & 12 Years
Bantam	91 - 92	13 & 14 Years
Midget	87- 88 - 89- 90	15, 16, 17 Years Old

How can I register? Registration is now Open, and closes when the all team positions are filled.

How many players on a team?  The format is 4 on 4 hockey, there are 3 lines: 12 players & 1 goalie per team.

When is the Registration Closed? There are a limited number of spots per age division so we recommend that you sign up early to avoid disappointment.

Will the Showcase interfere with my Soccer, Baseball, or Basketball Tournament?
MSHA has made every effort effort to contact the other sporting associations and avoid conflicts.
Soccer: Fairbanks Youth Soccer Association: Midnight Sun Tournament: June 24-26 according to website no conflicts in July
Baseball: Fairbanks American Legion Baseball: Midnight Sun Tournament: June
UAF Summer Arts Festival: July 17 - July 31
World Eskimo-Indian Olympics: July 20 - 23
Golden Days Parade: July 20-24

How are the teams selected?
Local coaches & tournament officials assign each player to a team. Each coach will play his 1-2-3 line vs.one another to ensure fairness in each game. Each player will recive equal ice time regardless of skill level.

When are the teams Announced? The teams will be announced Tuesday, July 5. They will be published online, and each player will be contacted by their coach or team rep.

How much does it cost? The showcase cost is $99. This includes 7 games (4 for Midget), Jersey, T-Shirt, Post Tournament Party, and Prize Raffle.

How many games will be played? Players will be guaranteed 7 games and 4 for Midget.

Who are the Coaches? Coaches will include members of  the Local Community and Guest Coaches from the Professional and Collegiate Ranks

What is The UAF Nanook/ALCAN Hockey Academy Full Day Program? the program offered will enable the players to stay on campus for the full day, or the players may leave when their games are completed.  This is a great program for parents who are working during the day. The cost of the Hockey Academy is $99.

How can I Participate in the Goal Scoring Camp or Safety Program? These clinics are programs held in conjunction with the Showcase the following week.  They are offered Monday to Thursday in the morning & afternoon, so the participants can be involved in an all day program.  If you would like more information about these clinics please click on the following links:
 

How Do I become a Showcase Sponsor? We have a sponsorship program for every level of sponsor, starting at $25. For more information please click here: Sponsorship Information

How can I become a Showcase Volunteer? We need plenty of volunteers to make this tournament a reality. if you are interested please click here: Volunteers.

Where do the proceeds from the Showcase go? The Showcase is used as a fundrasier to support the Alaska Youth Hockey Safety Program.

Midnight Sun Showcase Out of Town Participants
We welcome all participants from Alaska, Canada, USA, and the Hockey World for our Summer Solstice Showcase.
This is great event to travel to Fairbanks for the week. You will participate in the GOAL SCORING & SAFETY CLINICS,  THE SHOWCASE, and enjoy a holiday of Alaskan fun activities and adventure.

Group or Team Travel:we will assist in any travel arrangements for your group or team. The players will enjoy a week of hockey clinics, a weekend tournament with 4 games, and some great Alaskan Fun.

Accommodations: M.S.H.A. will assist in any arrangements for participants and families, to ensure a wonderful stay in Fairbanks. We are happy to assist with individuals or groups of players.
